About Mode Choc
Our mission
We know how difficult it is to dress the family on a budget without compromising the quality. This is why we are constantly searching for good quality products at reasonable prices.
If we work so hard to make your shopping easier, it's because our customers are and have always been, at the center of our concerns. It is important for us to provide attentive service before and after sales in order to maintain a relationship of trust that now exist for more than 40 years between our customers and us.
Mode Choc contributes to the well-being of families by dressing their daily lives at affordable prices.
Founded in Lac-Saint-Jean
Founded in 1983 by an entrepreneurial couple, the chain’s first store, then known as “Aubaine Choc,” opened in Dolbeau in the Lac-Saint-Jean region. Strong local enthusiasm for the store made it possible, in the early 1990s, to open four new locations. With the arrival of the new millennium, the Aubaine Choc chain became Mode Choc in order to adapt to customer needs, with an improved offering and the addition of well-known brands in-store.
Since 1983, Mode Choc has continued to expand, reaching markets from Québec City all the way to Moncton, New Brunswick. For the chain, 2015 was marked by the opening of the Saint-Georges store and the launch of its online shop. In 2018, the company made its major entry into the Montréal area and opened its very first Mode Choc Déco in the Québec City region. In 2023, a store was added in Sainte-Foy to better serve the Greater Québec City area.
Today
Today, the torch is being passed on to the second generation, with the founders' youngest daughter leading the company with a vision focused on growth and productivity. This continuity is also supported by a strong presence of women in decision-making positions, both in operations and on the board.
In addition to announcing the opening of a new store in Joliette in 2027, Mode Choc acquired HIP Collections at the end of 2025, enabling the distribution of its well-known brands to other retailers. This strategic step reflects the company's commitment to continuing to democratize access to high-quality, affordable fashion for an ever-growing number of Quebec families.
Founded in 1983 as a small business with six employees, Mode Choc has grown to 12 stores and employs more than 450 people, spread between Quebec and New Brunswick.
